EMI is suing MP3Tunes for copyright infringement

http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/03/28/emi-suffers-a-setback-in-case-against-mp3tunes/

Mp3tunes.com is an online music storage that let user stored their music online. However, EMI sued Mp3tunes.com for copyright infringement. In my opinion, I believe EMI's lawsuit is without merit. Unlike the original form of napster.com which let user share their music freely, mp3tunes.com billed itself as a storage facility, not a distribution facilty. Based on it, the court struck down EMI's lawsuit. I think EMI just looking for more money or use lawsuit as a tactic to scare off would be online music sharing center. Keep it up, Mp3tunes.com.

However, catchthebest.com comes with a social twist, it allows other employees to vote on job applicants alias diggs.com. The future of newspaper

http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/03/28/decline-of-us-newspapers-accelerating/

With more and more people reading news online, the decline of printed news media is unavoidable. In fact, most news publishers such as New York Times, Financial Times, San Francisco Chronicle, and Newsweek post news online in addition of printed media. Some would charge readers monthly fees to access their news content, while others provide that free of charge. A positives effect is that this will save lots of trees, and energy for printing, thus better for environment. Although printed media is declining, but I think it will never gone for good. Personally, I prefer to read newspaper more than read news online because I can read anywhere. What about your take on this?

Technoriati tries to make more money

http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/02/29/technorati-to-launch-blogger-advertising-network/

Technorati, an internet search engine for searching blogs, is considering to create an advertising network that advertise to bloggers. I think it is a good idea but they are late to the market and lost the completive advantages. FM Publishing is already leading the market, and Technorati needs to compete with them.

Copycat of Digg???

http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/02/25/yahoo-buzz-launches-with-massive-homepage-traffic-to-push-it/

Perhaps Yahoo envys Digg's success and wants to get a share, Yahoo launches Buzz on February 25, 2008. Similar to Diggs, a story in Buzz is ranked by votes. The more votes it gets, the higher ranking it will be. Think Yahoo is the first of copycat? No way, AOL is first! They have a stand alone Digg like site name Propeller.com.

I don't if Yahoo's Buzz can be as successful as Diggs. That remains to be seen.

Asus Eee pc

http://hardware.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=07/12/31/1347228

The Asus Eee pc is a ultraportable pc and weight in about 2 pounds with a 7" screen. It created a buzz when it first came to market due to its size and weight. In order to keep the price low, Asus choose Linux as its OS.
My wife is looking for a notebook computer for school, she wants small size and cheap. So I had been searching in the Internet and come across the above article from slashdot.org and other sites for review of this computer. I think the Eee pc really fits her need. Therefore, I place an order on Amazon.com for one. The total cost was $349.99 included free shipping. it is a pretty good deal. Her computer arrived 2 days later delivered by UPS. The setup time is fast just a couple of minutes since everything came pre-installed. This Eee pc came with Open Office software which similar to Microsoft Office as well as anti-virus. The GUI is pretty direct and intuitive that is good for her because she is a computer novice. The only negative is its keyboard,
very crammed and small. Other than that, she is very happy with this computer.

Below are other review for this computer:
